
Statement regarding unscheduled closure of Trafalgar Road Campus on July 18

Earlier this afternoon Halton Regional Police Services (HRPS) informed Sheridan of a potential threat at Trafalgar Road Campus (Oakville) due to a possible armed suspect in the area.
Sheridan immediately instituted its active assailant procedure and those on campus received directions via the campus emergency response system and the Sheridan ALERT app.
HPRS took the suspect into custody shortly thereafter and indicated that there was no longer a threat to public safety.
All classes and events on campus in Oakville are cancelled for Tuesday, July 18, however campus will be open, as usual, on Wednesday, July 19
Students, employees and faculty are commended for their calm response on campus.
