We are very excited to introduce our next guest speaker in the series: director, producer, cinematographer, editor, public speaker, and poetic artist, Akil McKenzie.

Akil McKenzieAkil founded his own production company, Falling Motion, while attending Sheridan. He is passionate about creating films that call for an end to racial injustice. His film, Historians, is an award-winning piece that poignantly captures anti-Black racism and honours the Black men and women who have fallen to violence. It has received accolades from film festivals around the world. He also works to create content for advocacy groups, and mentors current film and television students to support underrepresented voices in the media industry.

Our moderator is BBA Marketing student Sierra Johnson. Sierra transferred to Sheridan from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary to develop a more hands-on experience in the business world, specifically marketing. A high-level athlete, Sierra trained at the Olympic Oval at the University of Calgary, and also has a love for real estate. She wants to earn a real estate certification after graduating from Sheridan.

Stay tuned for more information on our next guest.
