How Sheridan is keeping you safe on campus

Ventilation upgrades

Ventilation upgrades: The airflow and ventilation in our spaces has been analyzed and evaluated, and filtration systems have been replaced pursuant to recommendations from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) for COVID-19. We continue to undertake measures to reduce the risk of airborne contaminants.

Screening through Sheridan Alert app

Mandatory screening for campus access: Students and employees are strongly encouraged to complete a daily self-assessment on the Sheridan Alert! App before coming to campus.

Vaccine

Vaccines: While we still encourage everyone to get vaccinated, including booster shots, Sheridan is pausing its requirement for vaccines or rapid antigen testing. As of April 25, students and employees will no longer need to upload proof of vaccination, nor will new students and employees. Vaccines continue to be available through our Health Centre or in the community.

Cleaning and Disenfecting

Cleaning & disinfection: We clean and disinfect frequently touched areas in common spaces at least twice daily and disinfect all of Sheridan’s public spaces once daily. In labs, studios, workshops, and offices, Sheridan community members are asked to clean equipment, materials, and workstations before and after use. Many spaces are disinfected using a new electrostatic spraying system, covering more high-touch areas in a fraction of the time.

Personal Protective Equipment

Masks and PPE: Sheridan no longer requires individuals coming on campus to wear a mask. However, we remain a mask-friendly and non-judgmental community for those who feel they want to continue masking.

Managing Positive Cases

Managing positive cases and outbreaks: In alignment with public health processes, Sheridan will provide specific information about your COVID-19 situation based on the information you share with us through the student self-reporting form or the employee self-reporting form. We continue to work with our local public health units to reduce the risk of transmission.

Public Health Information

Sheridan will continue to work closely with Region of Peel Public Health and Halton Public, as we have throughout the pandemic. For their most up to date, localized public health guidance and information, visit the Region of Peel or Halton Region websites.

Please note that these measures will change as public health guidelines evolve. For the latest protocols, please visit sheridancollege.ca/covid-19.
