File a Formal Complaint

If you've experienced sexual violence and would like to file a formal complaint, we can help you. It is important to note that you do not need to file a Formal Complaint in order to receive support.

The following information is intended to help the Sheridan community to file a formal complaint.

If you are a Student:

The Sexual Violence Response Specialist can assist you with reviewing reporting options, both on and off campus, and will direct you to the Student Rights and Responsibility Office should you wish to file a complaint as directed in the Sexual Violence Policy. If the alleged individual is another member of the College community, you may file a complaint under this Policy. Please note that you are not obligated to file a formal complaint in order to receive support from Sheridan.

Individuals who have experienced sexual violence may also wish to press charges under the Criminal Code. The Sexual Violence Response Specialist can also assist with you contacting local police services.

If you are an Employee:

The Sexual Violence Response Specialist can assist you with reviewing reporting options, both on and off campus, and will direct you to speak with the Intake Coordinator with the Centre for Equity and Inclusion should you wish to file a complaint as directed in the Sexual Violence Policy. If the alleged individual is another member of the College community, you may file a complaint under this Policy. Please note that you are not obligated to file a formal complaint in order to receive support from Sheridan.

Individuals who have experienced sexual violence may also wish to press charges under the Criminal Code. The Sexual Violence Response Specialist can also assist with you contacting local police services.
