Sheridan opened its doors and welcomed thousands of future students from across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area and beyond to its three campuses in Brampton, Mississauga and Oakville during its Fall Open House events in November.

Held over a two-day period, the event gave attendees the chance to explore Sheridan’s extensive programs, tour its facilities and learn about its comprehensive student services. Attendees who checked in to the event were also entered into a draw for a chance to win a $5,000 credit towards their Sheridan tuition.

“I am tremendously proud to serve as the President of Sheridan. There are lots to explore again [at Open House]. This is an exceptionally special place,” said Dr. Janet Morrison, Sheridan’s President and Vice Chancellor, during her welcome speech. “We recognize the importance of your choosing a program that will prepare you for meaningful work but will also cultivate your capacity to be a good citizen.”

To kick off the event at each campus, representatives from Sheridan’s recruitment team, Sheridan Student Union and Faculty Deans joined Dr. Morrison and Sheridan’s Provost and Vice President Academic, Mary Vaughan, to lead a Bruins Welcome Rally where they encouraged attendees to explore the many spaces on campus and experience what a future at Sheridan could be.

Through interactive program information sessions, attendees had a chance to experience a variety of technologies used in Sheridan programming — including HoloAnatomy’s 3D mixed reality software used in the Practical Nursing diploma and Honours Bachelor of Sciences – Nursing (BScN) degree as well as Trafalgar Road Campus’ LED volume which is primarily used by students in the Advanced Television and Film (ATVF) post-graduate certificate program.

Attendees interested in Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design programs such as Sheridan’s Bachelor of Animation, Bachelor of Illustration and Bachelor of Photography also had the opportunity to have their portfolios reviewed.

The Marketplace offered a space for attendees to ask questions about the supports and services available at Sheridan, gather information about their program requirements and student life by speaking with faculty and current students, and learn more about financial assistance options.
