One thought can change the world.

When perfection is law, and violation means exile… or worse… a group of telepathic teenagers learn to hide in plain sight from a society that values "normal" over all else. Adapted from John Wyndham's timeless dystopian tale, The Chrysalids asks us the question: what would you do if your very existence was considered a radical act of defiance? Join Theatre Sheridan for the first look at this gripping cautionary tale, and ask yourself what normal is, and who gets to decide.

Trembler's Waltz

Created by Trevor Copp and Aaron Jensen
Music and lyrics by Aaron Jensen
Choreography by Trevor Copp

Director: Sabryn Rock
Music Director: Donna Garner
Stage Manager: Sarah Brawn

What if stress was contagious? For Laurel, a student on the brink of total exhaustion, the past and present begin to blur together as she starts to experience the symptoms of one of history's most enthralling unexplained phenomena — The Dance Plague of 1518. Join Theatre Sheridan for Trembler's Waltz, where ghosts from the past help us search for stillness in a world that can't stop moving.

Works-in-development

Theatre Sheridan is proud to continue its legacy of developing new works.

To start our season, the First Drafts program features new musicals by some of Canada’s best writers and composers. These workshop presentations will premiere 45-minute excerpts of two never-before-seen scripts in their earliest stages of development.

The Musical Development Project provides a unique glimpse into the creative process, showcasing collaborations between our students and artists from around the world. Come see these new musicals in their final stages of development before they become the next big hit.

First Drafts and the Musical Development Project will be stand-and-sing presentations.
