Sheridan is pleased to announce that the Accreditation Commission of the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) has approved the Honours Bachelor of Interior Design program for CIDA accreditation.

CIDA assessors recently visited Sheridan College to conduct an extensive review of the Interior Design program. The visiting team reviewed program curriculum, student work, facilities, resources, and interviewed faculty, students and administrators.

The CIDA team determined that the program was in full compliance with CIDA standards. During a concluding debrief, they complimented the faculty on the program and identified a number of unique program strengths. The program meets or exceeds the professional standards necessary to give graduates a competitive edge and prepare them for entry-level practice.

“Congratulations to the Interior Design faculty who have spent several years designing a comprehensive curriculum and preparing for this CIDA review,” said Heather Whitton, Associate Dean.  “This is a rewarding conclusion to years of hard work and dedication.”

The four-year Honours Bachelor of Interior Design program is offered in a brand new facility at the Hazel McCallion Campus in Mississauga, featuring studios that look and feel like professional spaces rather than classrooms.  The program provides practical, hands-on training along with theoretical and research components.
