Generator at Sheridan welcomes two Ontario innovation partners to explore collaboration opportunities

Generator at Sheridan recently welcomed two partners to its campuses to explore opportunities for collaboration in applied research. Representatives from IDEAWORKS at Mohawk College and the Osler Research Institute for Health Innovation (ORIHI) visited Sheridan to learn more about the college’s research facilities, technologies and interdisciplinary expertise.

Representatives of IDEAWORKS at Mohawk College gather with Sheridan administrators and staff for a group photo.During their visit to Sheridan’s Trafalgar Campus, IDEAWORKS at Mohawk toured Generator at Sheridan’s Centre for Applied AI, Centre for Elder Research and the Screen Industries Research and Training Centre. The group explored demonstrations ranging from an AI-powered chatbot designed to support military veterans to age-simulation gear and an augmented-reality virtual patient used for training and research. Conversations focused on how the college’s innovation hubs can build on complementary strengths to expand cross-institutional collaboration and boost regional innovation capacity.

They also visited Sheridan’s Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies, where they explored applied health labs and the HoloAnatomy Learning Platform that enables students to visualize complex anatomical structures in immersive 3D.

Together, these visits reflect Generator’s commitment to cultivating relationships across Ontario’s innovation ecosystem that accelerate research and deliver real-world impact for communities and industry.
