On March 7, Generator at Sheridan visited the University Health Network (UHN)’s KITE Research Institute to explore collaborative opportunities to improve the lives of people living with the effects of disability, illness, and aging.
The visit is the latest of an ongoing collaboration between Generator and the institute, which began in 2019 with the creation of the Fabric Based Research Platform (FIBRE).
Following a tour of the KITE Labs where cutting-edge technologies and innovations were demonstrated, KITE’s Anthony Palma, Director, Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives, Garrick Ng, KITE Creates Program Lead, and senior scientists spoke with Generator’s Research and Entrepreneurship Centres about ways of leveraging Generator’s expertise in research and development to drive innovation with impact.
KITE is a world leader in complex rehabilitation and is the research arm of the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. Home to over 100 scientists and 56,000-square feet of research space spread across five sites in Toronto, it is one of the principal research enterprises at the UHN, Canada's top medical research hospital.
