International Education Week 2021 recap
It’s a wrap on another successful International Education Week for Sheridan!
This year, the Centre for Global Education and Internationalization (CGEI), in collaboration with the Sheridan community, hosted a series of five webinars to celebrate International Education Week.
Every year since 2001, individuals, schools, colleges, universities, businesses, and governments all around the world have been celebrating International Education Week during the third week of November. This marks a chance for institutions around the world to celebrate, promote and discuss the importance of international and global education and serves as a catalyst for building understanding and collaboration across and between institutions.
The webinars offered an opportunity for our community to engage with renowned national and international experts, scholars, and practitioners and covered the following topics:
A Faculty Perspective on COIL: A Sheridan Experience!
Sheridan’s International Alumni: pathways to Triumphs
Exploring a (new) praxis for Internationalization: Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization (EDID)
A Local to Global Imperative: Powering Personal and Societal Transformation through Education for Sustainable Development
Internationalization and Refugee Education
If you missed any of the webinars and/or would like to watch them again, they are available through the CGEI SOURCE page, or click on the links above.
The webinar series generated interest both nationally and internationally with a total number of approximately 400 registrations from 14 countries across the globe. The webinars also caught the attention of local media.
This success is owed to the hard work, expertise and collaborative effort of many Faculties and offices across Sheridan to organize, develop and promote the webinars.
What the attendees had to say:
