After 45 years of successfully connecting employers and employees, Sheridan has made the difficult decision to close its Oakville-based Community Employment Services (CES).
Located at 105 Cross Road, CES will close as of March 29. 2024.
As part of Employment Ontario, CES assisted and supported individuals to access training, skills and employment in the community for over four decades.
The centre’s closure is the result of changes in funding, and service delivery expectations as part of the Employment Services Transformation in Ontario. The college is working with their funder and Service System Manager (SSM), Fedcap Canada, to facilitate the transition for current clients and employers.
Sheridan has thanked the colleagues who worked to make CES a success during its tenure, supporting thousands of clients and employers with their job-related needs. The dedicated team were able to guide clients while on their career journey and to help many to secure employment.
Sheridan will continue to support and serve employers and industry partners through a range of other services, providing access to co-op, field placement, student and alumni talent for employment opportunities, as well as access to engagement activities that build connections and brand awareness.
Please visit Sheridan Works where Sheridan students, alumni and employers can engage in career-related and job-related activities, for more information. Employers can also connect with us by using the engagement form.
