Grads to Watch 2026: From Sheridan to award-winning designer
by Jill Scarrow – Jun 4, 2026
Honours Bachelor of Interior Design graduate Jenny Huggon didn’t wait for graduation to make a mark in the design world. She and fellow student Kiki Heath co-founded interior design firm Studio Boden, during their fourth year at Sheridan, and they’ve gone on to work for clients across the GTA, including a project featured in Canadian Interiors magazine. Huggon’s also made her mark on the world stage. She won the euro a go go Retail Design Experience Award this year, which gave her the chance to attend EuroShop 2026, a leading global industry conference held every year in Germany.
You’ve accomplished a lot during your time at Sheridan! Is there any one thing you're particularly proud of?
One thing I’m especially proud of is having the opportunity to exhibit at several major design shows throughout Toronto. In 2024, I exhibited at the Toronto Interior Design Show (IDS) alongside Gigi Dybalski and Nat Guberney in collaboration with Metropolitan Hardwood Flooring. That was followed by another exhibition at IDS in 2025 with LIV Design Studio. Most recently, in 2026, I had the opportunity to represent my own design studio, Studio Boden, at the Living Luxe Design Show.
I wouldn’t have had these opportunities without the support of my professors, who continuously pushed me to aim higher, offered (sometimes brutally!) honest guidance, and helped me build the confidence to navigate this new industry. Their support played a huge role in shaping my experience at Sheridan and I'm truly grateful for it.
Tell me about winning the Retail Design Experience Award - how did that happen?
It was an exciting and incredible experience. The submission included two projects: the first was a luxury-retail partnered project I completed in my second year under Professor Raymond Dunning, and the second was a new conceptual pop-up floral store designed to be modular, sustainable, and easily transportable for the fast-paced retail industry. Both projects really pushed me creatively and allowed me to explore how retail spaces can create meaningful, immersive experiences.

What’s one thing from the EuroShop experience that you’ll take with you into the future?
One of the biggest things I took away from EuroShop was the reminder that inspiration really comes from everywhere. As designers, it’s so important to travel, experience architecture and design first-hand, meet new people, and build connections across different industries and cultures. It also reinforced the idea that the best design often comes from pushing boundaries and not being afraid to challenge the norm.

What’s your advice for first-year students? What do you wish you’d known when you started at Sheridan?
My advice is to be bold. Try things you’ve never done before, push your ideas further, and don’t play it safe just for the grades. School is the best place to experiment, take creative risks, make mistakes, and learn from them. The projects that challenge you the most will be the ones that shape you as a designer.
What’s next for you?
Continuing to build Studio Boden! While our main focus is residential design, we’ve also had the chance to step into commercial and hospitality spaces along the way. Right now, we’re especially excited about expanding into more new builds and large-scale renovation projects.
