Andrew Mitrovica

Andrew Mitrovica is a journalism instructor, writer and media commentator. For the majority of his journalism career, Andrew has been an investigative reporter for a variety of Canada's most respected news organizations and publications including the CBC's fifth estate, CTV's W5, CTV National News, where he was the network's chief investigative producer, The Walrus magazine, where he was a contributing editor and the Globe and Mail, where he was a member of the national newspaper's investigative unit.

During the course of his 23-year career, Andrew has won numerous national and international awards for his reporting. Among his many broadcast and writing awards, Andrew is an eight-time winner of the Canadian Association of Journalist's Award for Investigative Reporting. His best-selling exposé of Canada's spy service, Covert Entry, was published by Random House Canada in 2002 and garnered the Arthur Ellis Award for the best work of non-fiction. He has also won Amnesty International's Award for Human Rights Reporting. He continues to routinely write on a freelance basis for a variety of magazines, and his opinion columns appear frequently in the Toronto Star and the Ottawa Citizen. He is also working on his second non-fiction book. Andrew became a full-time journalism instructor at Sheridan College in 2005. Currently, Andrew teaches in several journalism programs at Sheridan. He is also Vice-chair of College Council.
