How To Find A Book On The Shelf
Note the Library location. Is the title held at Davis or Trafalgar? To have books sent from one campus to the other you may place a hold on the book (see: placing a hold).
If there is a date listed under Due Date the material is signed out to someone already.
If the title is at the correct location and is not signed out you will need to know the Call Number and Location (Reference, Reserve, Government Documents, Periodicals and Current Periodicals are separate sections in the library). Reference materials and current periodicals cannot be signed out from the library; they are for in library use only.
Call number ranges are posted on the ends of the library shelving. If you cannot find a call number that is listed as available in the catalogue please ask for help at the Circulation Desk.
