  1. Where do I go to make an appointment with my Accessible Learning Services Advisor/Counselor?
To make an appointment with your Accessible Learning Services Advisor/Counselor, please go to the Accessible Learning Services Office at your campus - B103 Trafalgar or 212G Davis.
  2. What is the purpose of the Individual Student Profile?
The Individual Student Profile is a document that outlines your education accommodation needs. You will be able to distribute one copy to each of your instructors when you introduce yourself. Your instructor will then be aware of the classroom accommodations that you require.
  3. Where do I pick up my Individual Student Profile?
The profile will normally be given to you during your initial appointment. On occasion you may be asked to return to the Accessible Learning Services office to pick it up.
  4. How do I book tests and exams that are to be written in Accessible Learning Services?
Please come to B103 Trafalgar or to B230 Davis at least seven days prior to your test date(s). Notify the office of your test time and the accommodations that you will require. You will be given an envelope to give to your instructor. The instructor will bring the test to Accessible Learning Services in the envelope you have provided. If you schedule a test for a time other than the class time, you must negotiate this with your instructor and have him/her initial a change.
  5. How do I arrange for taped textbooks/alternative to print materials?
Your need for taped texts will be discussed in your initial appointment with your Accessible Learning Services Advisor/Counselor. You will be provided with taped text request forms. In order to complete the form you will need the following information:
    • Book title

    • Publisher and date
    • Edition number
    • Chapters required
    • Number of pages

  6. How do I arrange for a notetaker?
Most students prefer to select their own notetaker and identify someone from their classes on their own. Some students will request instructors' assistance. Where finding a notetaker is proving to be difficult, notify Accessible Learning Services who will contact your instructors on your behalf. Once you have a notetaker, please let Accessible Learning Services know who it is and we will provide notetaking paper. You may find it advantageous to have a second person as a back up.
  7. What if I need tutoring or assistance with writing assignments?
This help is available through the Career Centre in D103 Trafalgar and through the Career Centre in B219 Davis.
  8. How do I find out about the Accessible Learning Services Bursary?
