Getting your timetable
Although Sheridan makes great efforts not to change your timetable, on occasion timetables may be changed between the times they are originally posted and the first day of classes. The Student Advisement Centre is available to assist you if you are experiencing difficulties accessing your timetable through AccessSheridan.
Choosing your elective
Have you chosen your General Education Elective yet? You can choose your General Education Elective until the 5th day of the semester. The longer you wait the less choice you will have. Visit/contact the Student Advisement Centre for help selecting your elective through AccessSheridan.
Being exempted from courses (Advanced Standing)
If you have taken courses at another college or university within the past five years, you may be eligible for Advanced Standing (an exemption from one or more of your Sheridan courses). To get more information about applying for Advanced Standing, visit the Student Advisement Centre.
Adding classes
At the start of each term, you have until the 5th day of classes to add classes to your timetable. If you are thinking of adding classes to your timetable, stop by the Student Advisement Centre to discuss your options and next steps.
Dropping classes
At the start of each term, you have until the 10th day of classes to reduce your course load with a partial refund (if eligible). It is strongly recommended that you discuss your options in the Student Advisement Centre before dropping your class.
Withdrawing from or changing your program
If you are considering withdrawing from your program, you have until the 10th day of classes to get a partial refund. If you are thinking about changing your program, you must do so by the 5th day of classes during the start of term. If you would like to change programs or are ready to withdraw, start at the Student Advisement Centre for information, next steps and options.
Important dates
Sheridan has a list of Important Academic Dates available to all students. It is very important that you familiarize yourself with these dates so that you don’t miss any important deadlines.
Sheridan’s Policies and Procedures
As a Sheridan student you will want to become familiar with the College’s Policies and Procedures. Staff in the Student Advisement Centre is available to explain these policies & procedures and any questions you may have.
Language Assessment information
If you have not already written your Language Assessment it is important that you contact the Assessment Centre immediately to set up a time to complete the assessment. Please note: not all programs are required to write the test, please check this list to see if your program requires the Language Assessment.
Sheridan’s Student Information Guide

Academic Standing policy
It is essential that you are aware of Sheridan’s Academic Standing Policy. If you have any questions about the Academic Standing Policy please visit the Student Advisement Centre.
Campus bookstores
Textbooks and other course materials/supplies can be purchased at the Davis Campus Bookstore or the Trafalgar Campus Bookstore. Students can buy new and used textbooks as well as sell back their textbooks at the end of the semester.
