Follow the steps below to ensure all requirements for funding are met:
If you are interested in Second Career funding, you must first visit your local Ontario Employment Services provider. Please see below for centres in Peel/Halton. Please visit the
Second Career Government website if you live outside this region.
You will work with an Employment Consultant who will assess your eligibility to apply for funding. If it is determined that you are eligible to apply for Second Career funding, you will be provided with the appropriate application package. Included in the application package is a requirement to research similar programs at three learning institutions. Please review Sheridan's "Information to Help with Research" link under "Second Career" for documents to help you with this portion of the application.
Another requirement of the funding application is ONE Acceptance Letter from one of the learning institutions you have researched. Sheridan can provide you with your Acceptance Letter if you have been accepted into the program. But first you must apply through Ontario Colleges Application Service and meet the program requirements.
Once your application is complete and you have your Acceptance Letter, your Employment Consultant will submit the entire application to the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. The Ministry will review your application and determine if you will be approved for funding.
