Sheridan two-year Architectural Technician Program and three-year Architectural Technology Program graduates enter the workforce with two powerful competitive advantages:
- A nationally recognized credential
- Superior, industry-approved education
The credential comes from the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board (CTAB), which approved Sheridan?s Architectural Technician and Architectural Technology programs in 2007. We?re one of the few CTAB-accredited architectural technology schools in Ontario ? and that?s because our programs adhere so closely to professional standards. You can?t get better preparation for a career or a more advanced degree anywhere else.
Design and Visualization Instruction
Developed in close cooperation with industry, our project-based curriculum mirrors the architectural technology workplace. You?ll acquire a unique blend of job-ready creative and applied skills, including:
- Drafting
- Computer-aided design
- 3-D modeling
- Visual problem-solving
- Project administration
- Preparation of contract documents and specs
Sheridan excels at teaching visualization and design. You?ll also gain a thorough understanding of building materials, construction systems, municipal codes and regulations, as well as sustainable energy and building technologies.
Employers rave about Sheridan Architectural Technology and Architectural Technician graduates because they're ready on Day 1 - there's no on-the-job training required.
Unique Learning Experiences
Sheridan's Architectural Technology and Architectural Technician programs both use mobile computing, so you'll have 24/7 online access to lecture notes and other class material plus the ability to collaborate on group projects.
In addition, the three-year Architectural Technology Program provides three paid work placements to provide students with valuable experience and professional contacts. Enrolment is limited through an additional co-op application process that takes place in the second semester. See Cooperative Education for details.
