The Summer Jobs Service program runs from April 1st to September 31st each year. Eligible employers can apply to receive a $2/hour wage subsidy for student positions they plan on hiring that occur during this time frame.

Employer Eligibility

• Must be a registered business with Canada Revenue Agency
• Must have Workplace Safety and Insurance Board coverage, or equivalent insurance
• Must have Third Party Liability Insurance
• Not currently involved in Lay-offs
• Did not displace existing staff with youth hired through this program
• Not be receiving government funds from any other programs for the same student or job placement.
• Not related to the person they are hiring (daughter, son, spouse, brother, sister, etc.)

* All placements are subject to approval and available funding

• Free placement of your job posting; in our Resource & Information Centre and on our website
• Connection with eager, local students who are ready to start work
• Job Fairs or Event Space (please contact us for details)

If you have already registered and have been approved for the Wage Subsidy, please feel free to print the CLAIM FORM. This form must be complete and signed by the employer and student every month and returned to our office no later than the 5th of the following month.
