Centre for Elder Research

The Centre for Elder Research provides a unique environment for conducting applied research into areas of practical concern and immediate relevance to older adults and their families. The Centre develops innovative approaches and creative interdisciplinary partnerships that focus on enhancing the lives of older Canadians.

Ontario will be home to close to three million seniors – more than double the number in 1998 - by 2021. With this rate of growth, the need to translate applied research into practical strategies that meet the challenges presented by this boom is critical. Sheridan’s Centre for Elder Research has the unique ability to turn research into real-world solutions.

The goal of the Centre is to identify, develop, test and support implementation of innovative strategies that improve the quality of life for older adults and their families, and to do this through applied research.

Impact

Your gift helps the Centre apply the ‘from lab to life’ approach to research that builds on the personal strengths of older adults and seeks to empower them, their families and their communities.
