There are many resources available to help you look for housing. The following resources are provided to help you get started on your search.

Places4Students: is the largest online accommodation posting site for students in Canada. Sheridan has now partnered with Places4Students in order to provide this easy-to-use platform to our students. features:

  • An easy-to-use database with postings organized by campus.
  • A roommate profile tool to help look for the ideal roommate.
  • A sublet listing tool for students who sign 12-month leases but will be away during the summer months, helping maintain their 12-month agreement.

Information for Students:
Places4Students is a FREE service for students to use to find a new place and to also post roommate profiles and sublet listings.

Information for Landlords:
If you are a landlord looking to post your listing for students, Places4Students is also a great place to start. The Places4Students platform provides many tools to help your listing stand out, such as Google Maps, a live up-to-date database, descriptive listings with photos, floor plans and amenities logos, as well as customer service support if you need help.

When using online classifieds, be sure to use you best judgement and never send money or commit to anything online before seeing the property and reading the details in the lease to avoid any costly mistakes. Homestay is your home away from home! Homestay accommodations are a great way to get the “Canadian” experience if you are a newcomer to Canada. Even if you are not a newcomer to Canada, homestays are also a great cheaper housing alternative for those looking to keep their costs down for living accommodations. Whether short term or longer, if you would like to live with another family when living off-campus, here are a few links to homestay providers.
