Age Friendly Event

November 29, 2018

We’ve all heard the term age-friendly communities - but what exactly makes a community age-friendly? The World Health Organization age-friendly cities guide highlights eight specific domains for communities to address when considering the physical and social needs of older adults, but how can you contribute to this process?

Join guest speaker Heather Thompson, Manager of Age-Friendly Initiatives for the Burlington Age-Friendly Council and Co-chair of the Halton Age-Friendly Network, to learn more about the benefits of living in an age-friendly community and key strategies to facilitate the process of making your community age-friendly.

Refreshments provided. Parking and admission are FREE but registration is required.

When: Thursday, November 29, 2018, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Where: Sheridan Conference Centre, Sheridan College, 1430 Trafalgar Road, Oakville

Please RSVP by November 22: elder.research@sheridancollege.ca or 905-845-9430 ext 2977
