Sheridan and RBC Future Launch partner on Future Ready virtual event aimed at empowering youth

In collaboration with RBC Future Launch, Sheridan College's Pilon School of Business (PSB) is hosting a virtual event on Feb. 3 focused on essential skills for future jobs and COVID-19’s impact on education and job searching. Future Ready will spotlight PSB and RBC's efforts in bringing value to youth, including international students, in the Peel Region.

"We have a responsibility to prepare young people for the opportunities and ambiguities of the future," said Zanita DiSalle, Regional Vice President, RBC. "That's what RBC Future Launch is all about, and through our partnership with Future Ready, we hope to help our youth build new skills. We are so proud to partner in such a meaningful way to make this happen."

Future Ready includes a panel discussion, and 15-minute workshops facilitated by experts focused on providing advice and resources on four pillars of success: skills for the 21st century, networking, mentorship and career resources, work experience, and mental well-being supports and services.

"The 21st century workplace is filled with many unforeseen complexities, challenges and uncertainties for graduates,” said Dr. Anne-Liisa Longmore, Dean of the PSB. "We are so grateful to RBC Future Launch in partnering with us to offer this unique learning opportunity and furthering our goals to provide transformative learning experiences that cultivate career-ready, agile, creative and socially-responsible lifelong learners."

RBC Future Launch will continue to bolster Sheridan’s student experience through relevant and timely job-related initiatives. “We’re grateful for the partnership with RBC Future Launch to benefit our communities,” said Sheridan President and Vice Chancellor, Dr. Janet Morrison. “It provides opportunities for students and young people to develop the leadership and knowledge that make education a truly transformational experience.”
