Sheridan will turn the lights off for one hour on Saturday, March 26 beginning at 8:30 pm, as we participate in Earth Hour 2011.  Earth Hour is a worldwide event that originated in Sydney, Australia in 2007, when businesses and households turned off their lights for one hour to send a message that it's possible to take action on global warming.

In the last few years, the event has achieved global recognition.  Earth Hour 2010 became the biggest Earth Hour ever, when a record 128 countries and territories joined the global display of climate action. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Asia Pacific to Europe and Africa to the Americas switched off. People across the world from all walks of life turned off their lights and came together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – our planet.  Sheridan is proud to participate again this year by turning out the lights on March 26.
