MOU signing in India with Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College

Sheridan signs MOU with Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College

February 05, 2016

Dr. Jeff Zabudsky, President and Vice Chancellor of Sheridan College, was a member of Premier Wynne’s recent Mission to India, which took place from January 31 to February 5.  During the mission, Dr. Zabudsky held discussions with Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College (BBSB), which is based in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab.  The meeting was facilitated by Amrit Mangat, MPP for Mississauga-Brampton South.

As a result of these discussions, the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) earlier this week that opens the door to student and staff exchanges, development of joint programs, and articulation of BBSB students into Sheridan’s engineering, IT and technology programs.

“We look forward to collaborating closely with BBSB to develop opportunities that will benefit students in both institutions,” said Dr. Zabudsky.  “As the Premier’s Mission demonstrated, Ontario and India share many of the same priorities, including education and skills development.  As an institution which already attracts many international students from India, we are well positioned to build a fruitful partnership with BBSB.”

Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College was established in 1993 by Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Education Trust formed under the patronage of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee with the approval of the Government of Punjab. The college is affiliated with Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.
