Sheridan Graduate Wins CBC Triple Sensation Competition

Leah Cogan, a recent graduate of Sheridan’s Music Theatre-Performance program, was named winner of the CBC Triple Sensation competition in the season finale on July 27. She received a $150,000 scholarship as her prize, and plans to continue her studies at Brown’s College in Providence, Rhode Island. This season’s six episodes can be viewed at www.cbc.ca.

Triple Sensation is a performing arts reality show that seeks out young performers, aged 16-26 and skilled in singing, dancing and acting, from across Canada. From the initial auditions before a panel of judges, twelve are selected for Master Class, a chance to train with world-renowned instructors. In addition to Leah Cogan, two Sheridan music theatre graduates (Jen Shaw and Tess Benger) and one current student (Liam Tobin), made the cut.

Over the past 35 years Sheridan’s Music Theatre - Performance program has earned the reputation of being the finest professional music theatre program in Canada. Graduates are highly sought-after for their well-developed talent, their professionalism, and their performing experience. The three-year diploma program prepares students with a thorough grounding in the disciplines of acting, singing and dancing, and features intensive and highly personalized training.
