Sheridan Business Grad Selected for Pythons Pit

New contest aims to reward budding entrepreneurs in Halton Region

Oakville,Ontario

Randy Pilon, a 1982 Sheridan business graduate and President and CEO of Virox Technologies, has been selected to join the Pythons’ Pit, an initiative of Rotary in Halton Region and McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business. Pythons’ Pit provides an avenue for creative, entrepreneurial residents and students of Halton Region to pitch their business concepts and product ideas in front of a live audience and a panel of business moguls from the local community, for a chance to win investment capital, cash prizes or bursaries. Other “Pythons” include John Romano, owner of Nickle Brook Brewery and Susanne Mikler, Co-founder and Owner of LC Liaison College.

Qualifying contestants will benefit from the guidance of the Pythons, as well as a group of industry experts representing a variety of fields. The contest is open to all residents of Halton Region. Visit http://pythonspit.ca/ to learn more.

Randy Pilon is a successful entrepreneur who founded Virox Technologies Inc., an Oakville-based company, in 1999 after a successful career with Bausch & Lomb. Virox, a producer of disinfection products, has achieved global success, and Pilon has been recognized for his entrepreneurial achievements in national media and as a recipient of the Oakville Award for Business Excellence-Entrepreneur of the Year.
