A new academic year is underway at Sheridan, and enrolment numbers reflect a pattern of continued growth, with overall full-time enrolment up by 7% over the fall of 2011. Sheridan currently has a full-time population of 18,000 students, dispersed amongst its campuses in Oakville, Brampton and Mississauga.

The most dramatic statistic shows a 21.2% increase in enrolment in Sheridan’s degree programs, which now number twelve in total (Sheridan also offers an additional five degrees in collaboration with university partners). “Our applied degrees have experienced impressive growth and success since we began offering them in 2003,” says Sheridan’s president, Jeff Zabudsky. “In fact, they are outperforming the system overall, with a graduation rate of 81% compared to the provincial average of 65%, and a graduate employment rate of 87% - ahead of the 83% reported province-wide.”

Sheridan’s current degree programs range from animation and illustration, interior design and music theatre, to global business management, athletic therapy and information systems security. The college is focused on increasing the number and scope of degrees it offers in the years ahead to meet the growing demand for this credential among GTA students.
