You’re Invited: Please help us ‘Build our History’ at Sheridan

Time 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Location - All campuses

The week of April 3-7 has been proclaimed to be Colleges Week in Ontario, in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the Ontario college system and as key milestone in Canada’s 150th anniversary.

As part of the celebration, you’re invited to events being hosted by Sheridan at its campuses this week. The events seek your help to “Build our History” by sharing your photos and knowledge about Sheridan’s evolution and milestones over the past 50 years. As a small token of our appreciation, there will be some fun 50th anniversary give-away items too.

The content we’re gathering will be shared with Professor Peter Kikkert, professor of public history and Professor Christian Knudsen, professor of cultural history. Their successful SRCA growth grant focuses on exploring and capturing the rich history of Sheridan, including the college’s creation, development, successes and challenges, its evolving capabilities and culture, and the societal forces that have helped give it shape. Working together with staff from Sheridan’s alumni, communications and marketing teams as well as student researchers, the goal of the project is to produce a compelling historical narrative, an animated timeline and a rich display of visual material about Sheridan that will be shared with our community this fall.

Please join us at any of the following events:

Tuesday, April 4 – STC: 9-11 am
Wednesday, April 5 – Trafalgar B Wing:  9-11am
Thursday, April 6 – HMC A wing atrium: 9-11 am
Friday, April 7 – Davis B wing (by cafeteria): 9-11 am

Photos can also be shared electronically, by sending them to sheridan50@sheridancollege.ca or by posting them to your social media channels using the hashtag #Sheridan50
