Blackbox Dialogues: Life, Love, and Learning

On Thursday, March 5th, at Sheridan’s Blackbox Studio Theatre (located in the Basement of the G wing), the Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences and of Animation, Arts and Design invite you to The Blackbox Dialogues, a community event centered on the sharing of stories, in their many forms.

For this inaugural installment, we are seeking expressions of interest from our community of creative practitioners to share stories, in any medium, and engage in dialogue about your experience(s) and work(s) around the theme of the intersections between life, love, and learning. Watch our video on Facebook.

We welcome all interpretations of this theme; for example, how ‘real life’ has influenced or continues to influence and inspire your work and practice, how love for an idea, a subject, or a form has fueled your passion, process, and/or your teaching and learning and work, or how your interactions with a colleague, student or peer have shaped your learning, process or work.

The event itself will feature two types of presentation styles on the theme of life, love, and learning:

Style 1: a 10-minute presentation/art/story/performance/film share with a 5 minute (or so) dialogue, or Q & A, with the audience.

Style 2: an ‘in conversation with’ type of presentation that is a dialogue/conversation between you and one or two peers/colleagues/students. As a pair or group dialogue/conversation, you will have approximately 15 minutes to dialogue about a topic that resonates with theme of life, love, and learning. An opportunity for Q & A with the audience will take place after the dialogue.

We welcome submissions by fillable PDF and kindly ask you send your expression of interest to or by end of day February 7, 2020.
