About Tutoring
Tutoring at Sheridan
Tutoring is offered at no extra charge for Sheridan students. Sessions are offered in ½ hour and 1 hour appointments or shorter drop-in sessions. The Tutoring Centre hires Sheridan co-op students, University of Waterloo, Ryerson, and University of Guelph senior co-op students.

Subjects
Tutoring provides support in Math, Business Math (Accounting, Finance, Statistics),Chemistry, English (writing and communication), and Object-Oriented Programming (primarily Java).
Math Tutors & Business Math Tutors
Our Math tutors can help you with general Math, most Business Math topics (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Statistics, etc.), as well as many technical Math and related topics. Talk to the tutor about your needs. The tutor will not do your work for you but is there to provide explanations of concepts and patiently help you problem solve your way to finding solutions and understanding your subject better.
Chemistry Tutors
Chemistry tutoring is available for fundamental issues related to Chemistry, Organic and Biochemistry from a health perspective, including disciplines such as Pharmacy, Nursing, Nutrition and Medicine.
English Tutors
English tutors can help you understand how to succeed in writing and research at the post-secondary level.
- Plan assignments and practice writing skills
- Improve grammar and mechanics *NOTE: tutors cannot proofread entire assignments, but can review a portion of it for structure and grammar and offer constructive feedback on content and style.*
- Develop presentation skills
- Learn basic computing
- Discuss study and test-taking strategies

Citation & Reference Specialists
Citation and Reference Specialists help you better understand how to build and correct your citations and references for your writing assignments, and help to learn bibliographic documentation (citation and referencing in APA, MLA and other styles). Bring your references and sources for one-on-one help!
Java Tutors
Our Java tutors can help you with object-oriented programming (Java 1 and Java 2) and other computer programming-related questions.
