JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

The Cooperative Education Peer Mentor will act as an Ambassador to all stakeholders (students, employers and faculty) through various marketing and information campaigns targeted to provide resources and act as a first point of contact. The successful candidate will work closely with Co-op Advisors to develop program specific resources including developing a resource database for co-op and internship programs as well as identifying and addressing questions on behalf of the department.

Job Duties:

  • The Peer Mentor will promote and market the Cooperative and Internship office to all stakeholders through strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Act as an “Ambassador” for Cooperative Education promoting benefits to all stakeholders.
  • Provide “Information Interviews” to first year and potential co-op students, addressing any questions regarding the co-op process, reiterating co-op expectations and communicating the value of the co-op experience.
  • Working with Co-op Advisors in developing program specific resources and developing a resource database for co-op and internship programs.
  • Use creative and innovative approaches to plan promotional activities and work as part of the Cooperative Education team to increase awareness regarding co-op.
