Voluntary Indigenous Self-Identification

Why self-identify?

Sheridan is committed to providing services to support First Nations (Status/Non-Status), Metis and Inuit students' success. If you're a First Nations (Status/Non-Status), Metis or Inuit student, we encourage you to self-identify.

Self-identification helps:

  • Improve and enhance Indigenous programming and services at Sheridan.
  • Connect learners with funding opportunities through bursaries and scholarships.
  • Improve connections with Indigenous communities.

Self-identification is voluntary and confidential, and you won't need to produce any documentation. All collected information is confidential and will not be shared, as outlined in the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The information will only be used to help us provide relevant support, services and resources.

How to self-identify:

To self-identify, please fill out the Voluntary Indigenous Self-Identification Form and email it to Paula Laing (paula.laing@sheridancollege.ca). Please include "Voluntary Indigenous Self-identification" in the subject line of your email.
