FRONT DESK SERVICES
The front desk is open 24 hours/day to answer questions and address concerns. Access to certain common spaces and items are required to be signed out from the Residence front desk by providing valid photo-identification. Vacuums and plungers are available for use by signing them out at the front desk.

Mail is delivered on weekdays and can be picked up from your mailbox located near the front desk. If you receive a package larger than your mailbox, it will be held at the front desk and a message will be sent to your email address letting you know that you have a package.

Stamped outgoing mail can be dropped off at the front desk and will be sent out daily (weekdays only).
As everything mailed to the residence via Canada Post, including XpressPost, is delivered to the main Sheridan College mail room first before being sorted and distributed to the residence, we recommend sending packages/mail to the residence via a tracked mail service, such as Purolator or FedEx. This will ensure your mail arrives to you as quickly as possible. (The Sheridan College Mail Room typically adds 2-3 days to the mailing process.)

MAINTENANCE SERVICES
Our Maintenance staff takes great pride in ensuring that our building is always meeting our high standards. Our Maintenance staff are very willing to assist with anything in your suite or the building that may be in need of repair. We encourage you to complete a Maintenance Request if you notice anything of this nature in your suite, or to report anything in a common area to the front desk. When Tending to maintenance requests, authorized residence staff will enter your suite room (usually between the hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm unless there is an emergency).

CREATING A MAINTENANCE REQUEST

Plugged toilets and sinks are the responsibility of the residence to clear, and Residents can borrow a plunger at the front desk.

Please note - Any damage caused to the common areas of your suite are subject to collective financial responsibility of both you and your roommate. Where possible, damages that can be traced to an individual will be billed to that individual only. Damages to the building or property caused by your guests will also be your financial responsibility.

HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES
On a bi-weekly basis, our housekeeping staff will enter your suite to do a light cleaning of the common areas of each suite (kitchenette and bathroom). Housekeeping services are not optional, and schedules will be posted in the residence, and students will be notified of any disruption in services. All residents are asked to prepare their suite for the arrival of housekeeping services by removing items from their floors, counter spaces and sinks in the common areas of the suite on the day of their scheduled cleaning, to ensure the housekeeping staff are able to make the suites’ clean as thorough as possible. Housekeeping services will not enter the student bedrooms, however vacuums are available to sign out at the front desk by residents.
Please note – it is the responsibility of each resident to ensure their suite is kept clean in between housekeeping services. Should housekeeping be unable to complete the light clean of a suite due to unhygienic conditions, the student will be given 24 hours to return the suite to a proper state before a cleaning fee will apply.

GARBAGE/RECYCLING SERVICES
Garbage chutes are located on each floor of the Residence. These chutes are only to be used to dispose of small garbage bags. Please do not put cardboard boxes, over stuffed garbage bags, or other over-sized items down the chute as this could cause blockages. All recyclable items are to be taken to the designated recycling area in your building. Please be kind to the environment and help Sheridan reach our Zero Waste goal. TELEVISION
Each resident is provided a TV in their bedroom with a remote. Residents will be subject to a replacement fee for lost or damaged remotes. If your television remote requires programming please contact Front Desk for assistance.

TELEPHONE
One telephone will be provided per suite to share between the two roommates. Local external calls can be made by dialling 9 plus the local area code, followed by the phone number. 1-800 numbers are not available from your room phone. Long distance calling is no included, however residents may choose to purchase a pre-paid long distance calling card (not provided by the residence).

INTERNET ACCESS
Internet access via wi-fi is available throughout the Residence using your Sheridan College credentials. If you have any issue with the internet on campus or in residence, please contact the IT department in the learning commons.

PARKING
All students parking on campus must purchase a parking permit. At the Trafalgar Campus, Residents must provide proof of purchase to Residence management to receive a permit identifying their vehicle for the Residence parking lot 1A. Vehicles parked in lot 1A without authorization will be ticketed, booted, and/or towed by Sheridan College Security. To learn more about parking on campus, please click here.

BICYCLE STORAGE
Bikes are not permitted within the residence buildings. There are designated storage locations at each residence building where students can securely lock up their bikes. More information will be given to students in respect to their buildings bike storage upon move in, or students can contact the residence if they have specific questions relating to bike storage.

LAUNDRY
Laundry operates using the Sheridan OneCard. You will need to add general funds to your OneCard by visiting the OneCard office located in B-Wing near the Security Desk or online by visiting https://it.sheridancollege.ca/support/OneCard . Each time you do a load of washing or drying, the machines will deduct from your card. Please do not overstuff the machines to ensure that issues do not arise while doing laundry. In addition, please clean the lint trap before and after every load in the dryer. Be considerate and do not leave your clothes in the machine past the end of the cycle. Please note that the Residence is not responsible for lost or stolen items of laundry left unattended.

COMMON KITCHENS
You have access to the common kitchen 24 hours a day. Residents are required to stay in the common food while food is cooking, as well as to clean up after they are finished. Kitchen privileges may be revoked should a resident be found to have left food in an oven or on a stove unattended, or if they have left a mess in the common kitchen after use.

LOUNGES
These are common areas available for use by all residents from 8:00am to 11:00pm daily. Each Lounge offers different furnishings to suit varying tastes. Take some time to explore your new home and see what it has to offer. Absolutely no glass, open drink containers, or alcohol is allowed in any of the common areas. Furniture should not be removed from the Lounges for any reason and the lounge area\ must be left clean and free from garbage after use.

ALLERGY ALERT
Although Residence cannot provide a fully allergy-free facility, we make a concerted effort to provide allergen zones in designated areas throughout the Residence building. All residents are asked to refrain from bringing common allergens including peanuts, tree nuts and shellfish into areas including lounges, lobbies, kitchens, etc.
