Sheridan celebrates academic achievement

Gardaworld award of excellence recipients

For our students, the end of the academic year brings a sense of accomplishment. The hours of studying, building final projects, and late nights in the run up to the final deadlines are done. Then come the celebrations.

Each year, Sheridan hosts academic award ceremonies that celebrate and highlight student achievement across all faculties. Thanks to the generous support of our alumni, industry partners, staff, faculty, and friends of the College, in 2019 more than 700 awards were handed out at 20 ceremonies, providing a total of $375,000 to talented Sheridan students who excelled in their designated programs.

"We are grateful to all of our wonderful award donors who take an active role in celebrating student success," says Dr. Janet Morrison, President and Vice Chancellor of Sheridan. "We are so proud of our talented students, and these award ceremonies provide an opportunity to recognize and share their achievements."

For many donors, the highlight of the event is presenting their awards, and meeting the students to learn more about their future plans. The ceremonies also give students the chance to extend personal thanks to donors, and many more recipients take the time to write to share their gratitude.
