Join us to celebrate the launch of stage two of Sheridan's national Open Innovation Challenge
Date: Feb. 18, 2021
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Sheridan is hosting a live, virtual community-wide event to kick off stage two: ideation of the Reimagine Learning and Education in our Communities Challenge.
During this stage you’ll have the opportunity to register or continue to work with a team to develop a creative, engaging and feasible idea that will reimagine learning and education. You’ll also be in the running for more than $50,000 in cash prizes.
The question at the heart of the challenge is: How might we collaborate within our communities to reimagine learning and education so that no one is left behind and all youth and adults can realize their full potential?
At this hour-long virtual event, we will:
• recognize winners from stage one with $10,000 in cash prizes (teams are eligible to win one of three $2,000 prizes or one of four $1,000 prizes).
• present insights we’ve heard so far around challenges people face with learning and education.
• hear from keynote speaker Zahra Ebrahim, co-founder and CEO of Monumental and a leader working at the intersection of cities, equity and design.
• share next steps for participating in stage two, during which teams will be asked to develop ideas around the challenges identified so far.
We're grateful to have TD Insurance, The Personal Insurance Company, Merit Security, Cyber Air Systems Inc. and the Town of Oakville on board as sponsors.
Everyone is welcome to attend. We hope you’ll join us!
