Courageous Conversation: Making Space for Students and Alumni to Discuss Race and Diversity in FAAD

Date: Jun. 12, 2020

Time: 12:00 p.m.1:30 p.m.

Location: Online

The current local and global outcry against anti-Black racism has been a widespread rallying call. Sheridan’s Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design (FAAD) is responding to repeated concerns by students - Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) - about a lack of safe and inclusive space for them to learn and thrive.

In collaboration with Sheridan’s Inclusive Communities, FAAD will engage with alumni and current students in purposeful dialogue to deepen our understanding and to support meaningful change. These conversations can neither wait nor be avoided.

Administrative leaders will be present to actively listen to your experiences and hear your recommendations for change.

Audience: Students and alumni of FAAD are invited to lend their voices to this virtual forum.

• We are creating a safe space for everyone who wishes to share to do so, including allies.
• We will respect the confidentiality of individuals who do not wish to be identified by their comments.
• Your participation is voluntary.

Everyone is encouraged to bring an open heart and mind, have the courage to speak, and the humility to listen, hear and reflect in a new way.
