June 04, 2010

Lily Sun, a 4th year Bachelor of Applied Arts (Animation) student, has won the Toronto International Film Festival Student Film Award for best animated film. This is the fifth year in a row a Sheridan student has won the award. Her film, Sketchi, was one of three Sheridan films nominated for an award this year. A total of 11 films from schools across Canada were in competition. All of the films were screened at the AMC theatre in downtown Toronto in May. Lily's award includes Maya 2011 software (courtesy of Starz Animation), a $1000 gift provided by the Director's Guild of Canada, a TIFF 2010 industry pass and a ticket to the Director's Guild of Canada Awards.
