Sheridan grad and student win big at Toronto Youth Shorts 2015

September 21, 2015

Patricia Ayu Lestari won the Achievement in Animation award last month at the Toronto Youth Shorts film festival. Her piece MINE! beat out animated works from Ryerson University and Concordia University. Patricia graduated from Sheridan’s Bachelor of Animation program in 2015 and the Art Fundamentals program in 2011. Christine Chung, a current Sheridan animation student, along with her creative partner Salwa Majoka, won an Award of Recognition for their piece, Hunger's Core.

Toronto Youth Shorts showcases cinematic work from local emerging artists that are under 30 years old in the Greater Toronto and Southern Ontario area. From nearly 150 entries, 30 short films were shown, including two pieces produced from Sheridan's animation program and another piece produced independently from a current Sheridan student.
