New degrees will give business professionals the right skills

February 25, 2014

There’s never been a better time to upgrade your business credentials at Sheridan. Launching in September 2014, Sheridan’s five new business degrees will allow students to develop the critical and creative thinking skills necessary to become successful, says Jeremy Staples, Associate Dean, Faculty of Business at Sheridan.

“We are creating an environment that teaches students how to manage change, handle uncertainty and embrace ambiguity. Time and time again, employers tell us that they need graduates with these skills.”

To this end, the curriculum will focus on example-based learning models, such as case studies, that will allow students to tackle real-world business problems, says Staples.

Sheridan is offering five Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources Management, Marketing Management and Supply Chain Management.

Students will have the opportunity to study part-time, full-time or year-round. Alumni who graduated from Sheridan in the last five years are eligible for transfer credits based on their program of study. However, only new full time students starting in their first year will be able to enroll for Fall 2014. Those who have graduated with a two- or three-year diploma will not be able to start full time until Fall 2015. The Faculty of Business is exploring ways for them to start part time in Fall 2014.
