Grads Win Another Gemini Award

October 11, 2011

Congratulations to Bob Munroe and Maria Gordon for winning the Best Visual Effects Gemini Award for an episode of the TV series The Tudors. The win was announced at the August 31st Gemini Industry Gala.

This is the third Gemini Award for Bob (Animation ’85) and the third nomination for Maria (Computer Animation ’98, Computer Graphics ’97) for The Tudors. Bob won a Gemini in 2008 with ’97 Computer Animation grad Terry Bradley. He was nominated in ’09 with both Maria and Terry, and again last year with Maria and Kyle Menzies (Computer Animation ’91). In ’96 Bob picked up the first Gemini for visual effects for TekWar.

Bob is a Toronto-based Producer/Director and former Founder and CEO of C.O.R.E. A longtime supporter of Sheridan alumni, Bob was recognized with a 2005 Premier’s Award honouring outstanding Ontario college graduates.

Formerly with C.O.R.E., Maria now works at ARC Productions as a Compositing Supervisor. Her most recent project was the historical TV series Camelot which debuted in April 2011.
