Building for Business: Mississauga 2011

June 30, 2010

The new Mississauga campus will be a four-storey 156,000 square-foot facility housing 1,760 students. Features will include a Welcome Centre, 30 classrooms and lecture halls, and a library-learning commons. The first phase of the facility will open in September 2011 in the City Centre across from the Square One Shopping Centre. Business alumni are invited to leave their mark or a message for future business students on the special fencing erected around the construction site.

The new campus will provide 1,200 spaces for business students. Business programming will include two- and three-year diploma programs in Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, and Banking and Wealth Management; Accounting in Canada for Internationally Trained Accountants; in addition to Post-Graduate programs in Human Resources Management, Marketing Management, Project Management and Financial Planning. As well, the Mississauga campus will offer a variety of programs and services to help newcomers transition into the local economy and fully contribute their internationally-acquired skills. All programs will feature innovative student-centred learning options, including flexible timetabling to suit students’ lifestyles, as well as increased options to study courses in a hybrid format with more online collaboration.

Sheridan has operated in Mississauga since the college’s inaugural year in 1967, when it opened the Crafts School in South Mississauga. Since the Crafts School moved to the Oakville Campus in 1970, Sheridan has been serving the regions of Halton and Peel from our locations in Oakville and Brampton. The School of Business has always has a strong presence in Mississauga, with over 40% of the School’s students coming from that city.
