Apprentice Alumni win Bronze at Ontario Competition

June 24, 2013

Sheridan apprenticeship grads Michael Scott, Industrial Mechanic Millwright and Jordan Mann, Tool & Die, won Bronze medals in their respective competitions in May at the 24th Ontario Technological Skills Competition in Waterloo.

Michael and Jordan were competing at the largest skilled trades / technology competition in Canada with 1900 competitors in 60+ skilled trade and technology contest areas, with over 30,000 spectators in 370,000 square feet of competition space.

Sheridan College is a Gold sponsor at the Ontario Technological Skills Competition, and is also involved in the Elementary Career Awareness Workshops at the Ontario Technological Skills Competition. Through hands-on workshops, young people have the chance to experience the realities of skilled trade and technology work. Sheridan’s interactive booth, set up by Michael Reid and his team of student and faculty assistants from STC, was a big hit at this year’s event.
