Film Screening and Q&A: Maudie

Join us in celebration of National Canadian Film Day – a massive one-day coast-to-coast party to honour Canadian cinema!

Maudie
We will be screening Maudie – a biographical drama about the life of acclaimed Canadian folk artist Maud Lewis. Based her true story, Maudie tells the story of the determined Nova Scotia woman who, while working as a housekeeper, honed her skills as an artist and went on achieve national recognition.

Come out and celebrate the work of our talented alumni who worked on the film: costume cutter Loreen Lightfoot (Fashion ‘74); compositing supervisor Douglas Cook (Media Arts ‘08); and visual effects supervisor Matthew Whelan (Animation ’03).

A Q&A with the film’s writer, Sherry White, will take place after the screening.
