Pre-Admission Testing

Certain circumstances and some programs require students to complete pre-admission testing to determine eligibility to meet Sheridan’s admission requirements.
  • Mature student tests are for applicants over the age of 19 who do not possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Visit Mature Student Testing for more information.
  • Equivalency Tests are used for applicants who lack a course requirement for admission. Visit Equivalency Tests for more information.
  • English Proficiency tests are written when an applicant’s credential is from another country. Applicants with valid TOEFL or IELTS results that meet the admission requirements may be exempt from taking the English Proficiency Assessment. Visit English Proficiency tests for more information.
  • Health Occupation Aptitude Examination (HOAE) is a standardized pre-admission test for all applicants to some Health Science programs. Visit the HOAE page for more information.
