Competitive Programs

Some of our programs are highly competitive. You may need to have a higher grade point average (GPA) in order to be considered for admission to one of these programs.

How we calculate your GPA

For admission purposes, your GPA is the average of your six highest senior-level marks, including the marks you achieved in all the pre-requisite courses for your program.

Minimum GPA requirements for competitive programs

This table shows the average GPAs that were needed for admission to our highly competitive programs in the last few years.

These grades should only be used as a guideline. The actual GPA required for any year may rise or fall.

Animation, Honours Bachelor of Applicants are selected on the basis of their previous academic achievement (range 75–80% GPA) and the results of a portfolio assessment
Computer Science, Honours Bachelor of Average Academic GPA 80%
Film and Television, Honours Bachelor of Average Academic GPA 80% and the results of a statement of intent assessment
Game Design, Honours Bachelor of Applicants are selected on the basis of their previous academic achievement (range 75–80% GPA) and the results of a portfolio assessment
