Kristina Sarmiento-Elen

Kristina Sarmiento-Elen

Professor

Kristina Sarmiento-Elen obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto.  The focus of her studies include a major in Psychology with double minors in Linguistics and English.  Upon completion of her studies, Kristina pursued a teaching certificate and a Master’s of Science in Education at Medaille College in Buffalo, New York. 
 
With a love for education and a passion for social service, Kristina has developed numerous non-profit and community programming for inner city organizations with great success.  She continues to volunteer with high school students and has steered seminars focusing on meaningful education and the importance of post-secondary education.  

Kristina was hired by Sheridan College in 2008 and has taught a plethora of psychology courses including Core Concepts of Psychology, Stigma: Understanding Prejudice, Agony and Ecstasy: Addictions and Understanding Cults.
