Newcomers to Canada

As an immigrant to Canada, you may need some help in getting established here. Integrating into the workforce is usually the most important goal for most Canadian newcomers. We can help!

Are you looking to improve your English or looking for help in employment preparation?  Sheridan offers a variety of free programs, paid programs and services - available for newcomers to Canada.  Sheridan can help with:

  • Language training in our LINC program
  • Specific workplace communication skills in our OSLT programs
  • Employment preparation in our ELT Pathways program
  • Guiding or creating possible pathways to other programs

LINC

Whatever your plans are here in Canada, improving your English may be one of the most important things you can do if English is your second language. Sheridan's Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) Program is a FREE language instruction program for newcomers to Canada.

OSLT

If you are internationally trained and experiencing communication barriers to finding appropriate work in Canada then Occupation Specific Language Training (OSLT) can help you improve your employability by improving your work place communication skills within your specific profession.

ELT

If you are internationally trained and experiencing barriers to finding appropriate work in Canada, then Enhanced Language Training (ELT) Pathways can help you find a job that matches your skills.
