Michael  Kaine

Professor, Accounting

Michael Kaine has been with Sheridan College as a full-time faculty member since 2006 and did three years of part-time teaching at Sheridan before that. Industry experience consists of twenty-one years with a major oil company in various accounting positions. Prior to that was 4 years with Deloitte & Touche doing audits of major corporations.  His CPA, CA designation was earned in 1977 and he left Deloitte & Touche in 1980 as an Audit Supervisor.

 He has taught all of the financial accounting courses in the 3-year diploma. To be able to teach in Sheridan’s BBA program, an MBA was completed in 2017. Six years of being the Accounting Academic Advisor allowed him to help students with personal and educational challenges. Teaching outside of Sheridan consisted of being a tutorial leader and teacher in the Sheridan-Nipissing B. Comm. program.

 He uses active learning processes, focuses on learning styles and on building strong teacher-student working relationships to help bring out the best in each student.
