Professor, Marketing

John is a Marketing Professor at the Sheridan Institute of Advanced Learning and Technology. He has taught courses in Marketing, Marketing Planning and Management, Finance for Marketers and Marketing Leadership and the Professional Edge. John is also an Event Coach for the Sheridan team at the Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition.

John is a strategic marketing executive with over 30 years experience building and delivering brands in both the consumer packaged goods and B-2-B sectors. John started his Product Management career with General Mills running their Cheerios cereal franchise, joined Quaker Oats where he launched Gatorade into Canada…them moved to the B-2-B world, where he was Vice President of Marketing, Customer Service and Corporate Communications at FedEx Canada helping to build Enterprise Customer Experience Management strategies. He was also President of Rapp Collins Canada, one of the world’s largest database, analytics and direct/interactive Customer Relationship Management agencies, before becoming Vice President of Marketing for Purolator Courier, Canada’s largest courier and logistics company, where he led an integrated strategic approach to Product Development, Pricing, Communications and Channel tactics driving customer value and the brand across the organization.

John holds an Honours B.A. from University of Toronto in Economics and Political Science, an MBA in Marketing from the Schulich School of Business, and just completed a Certificate in Adult Education from Sheridan College.

John is involved with the Board of Second Harvest, focused on food rescue to help feed hungry people in our community, helping the Communication and Planning committees.
